Fact #1: The FAFSA is only for US citizens.

The FAFSA is only for US citizens, US nationals, and eligible non-citizens. Undocumented students are not eligible for federal financial aid.

Fact #2: The FAFSA is completely free!

FAFSA stands for “Free Application for Federal Student Aid” - free is in the title!

Fact #3: Apply early!

Although the FAFSA is open from October through June, the earlier you submit your FAFSA, the more likely you are to qualify for federal, state, and college-offered grants.

On average, it takes only 24 minutes to complete the FAFSA. Get your documents in order and apply!
